Zineb Kassab

Dr. Zineb Kassab is an Assistant Professor at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, within the College of Chemical Sciences and Engineering. She joined the university in 2016, completed a joint PhD between Hassan II University of Casablanca and Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, and later continued as a postdoctoral researcher before being appointed Assistant Professor. Her research focuses on sustainable and intelligent packaging systems, with particular emphasis on biopolymers, nanocellulose, and biomass valorization. She develops next-generation packaging materials that are sustainable, multifunctional, and designed to improve product protection, safety, and shelf life while reducing environmental impact. Dr. Kassab has authored and co-authored more than 90 peer-reviewed publications, co-invented four patents, and received more than 3,825 citations, with an H-index of 38. She has active international collaborations and has received several recognitions, including the African Women in Science Early Career Award and inclusion in the Stanford–Elsevier Top 2% Scientists ranking. Her work aims to bridge advanced materials research with industrial applications, particularly for food, pharmaceutical, and electronics sectors, contributing to the development of sustainable and intelligent packaging technologies.
