Nathanael Guigo

Dr. Nathanael Guigo is Research Director at CEMEF (Centre for Materials Forming), Mines Paris – PSL, where he develops research on sustainable polymer materials derived from renewable resources and including circular approaches. With 20+ years experience on the furanic value chain, his work adresses both thermoplastics (e.g. FDCA/PEF-type polyesters) and thermosets such as polyfurfuryl alcohol and humins-derived resins. He investigates structure–property relationships, thermo-mechanical behavior, and reactive transformation pathways to enable high-performance bio-based materials. Another major axis of his research concerns recyclability, including physical recycling strategies for engineering polymers. He has an extensive track record in collaborative projects bridging fundamental polymer science and industrial applications; notably he was the Vice-Chair of the COST Action FUR4SUSTAIN and coordinator of the Horizon Europe ABSolEU project on ABS recycling. He has co-authored over 110 peer-reviewed publications (H-index 42) and several patents and book chapters.
